Majapahit was a Javanese Hindu kingdom on the island of Java in Southeast Asia (in modern-day Indonesia). It lasted from 1293 CE to 1527 CE and reached its pinnacle under the reign of Hayam Wuruk, who ruled from 1350 to 1389 and was known for his conquests across Southeast Asia.
Majapahit was one of the region's last major Hindu empires, and is regarded as one of Indonesia's and Southeast Asia's biggest and most powerful empires. It is sometimes said to be the model for Indonesia's present borders. Its influence stretched well beyond Indonesia's present borders.
