Kanishka is perhaps the most famous Kushana king , under whose reign Kushana empire reached it's zenith. Kanishka was a great patron of Buddhism and held the fourth Buddhist council. It was in this council that Buddhism was split into two schools - the Hinayana and the Mahayana.He also patronised the Gandhara and Mathura school of sculpture.
