Craigslist is a classified advertisements website that normally involves an online listing for a product or service followed by an email or telephone exchange and an in-person meeting between the buyer and seller.

Craig Newmark, a computer engineer, started Craigslist in 1995. It was launched as a modest local e-mail newsletter in San Francisco. As of 2005, Craigslist served more than 75 cities and had $10 million to $15 million in revenues.

By 2019, it had revenue of $760 million.[1]
