Africa is a continent that comprises one-fifth of the world's landmass. The climate of the continent is diverse, including tropical, temperate, desert, arid, and subarctic areas.

It is 1.2 million square miles large.

Northern Africans had close contact with the people of Asia since 4th millennium BCE.

The Atlantic slave trade caused the most instability in the content with over 10 million Africans transported throughout the Atlantic from 1500 to 1850.
